Cura’s Completely Satisfied Service Standards Enhances Waitstaff Training

  • Published January 31, 2024

Training is Key to Creating Memorable Experiences for Residents.  Cura Hospitality creates waitstaff training and learning opportunities for their servers to elevate our services.  A key component of Cura’s Completely Satisfied customer service platform is their comprehensive “8” module waitstaff training program designed to provide the tools and resources including a guide to understanding our residents’ generations, how to communicate and engage them, and proper service techniques all while supporting their community’s mission, vision and values.

“As a senior dining specialist, we are committed to excellent customer service.  Our training is the answer to the senior living’s struggle to both attract and retain skilled employees – who are in most cases, high school-age students.  Our servers are the first point of contact for residents and our guests upon entering the dining room.  We know that knowledgeable and engaging servers create positive dining experiences, one of the most significant contributors to resident satisfaction within senior living communities,” says Senior Director of Marketing Jared Levin.

Servers learn service basics from the steps servers must take starting before they start service, how to properly and professionally serve our residents, and how to deal with guest recovery situations during meal service.

Table discussions with proctors and quizzes reinforce learning, but a favorite and most useful way to learn is by ‘doing’.  “We create a mock dining scenario where servers will practice their skills with their fellow servers, reinforcing excellent customer service skills and more importantly how to enhance life around great food,” adds Levin.

“The hospitality industry is fast-paced, so we need to be energetic and to think quickly on our feet,” he says.  A team building exercise pictured here shows how students built a train track as a way of working together to meet a common goal.

After completing the waitstaff training, servers will have more opportunities to participate in other Completely Satisfied courses including culinary training, nutrition education, communication tools, and more enhanced methods to enhance the overall dining experience.
