Celebrating National Peach Month!

  • Published July 28, 2026

This month, we’re excited to take you to Kalamazoo, Michigan, home to one of the newest members of the Elior family. As we celebrate the flavors of summer (and National Peach Month), we’re featuring a recipe that captures the season’s simple elegance: Lebanon Peach Cake.

With its tender, biscuit-like crumb, juicy peaches, and a delicate topping of cinnamon sugar, this rustic dessert is as beautiful as it is comforting. Whether served as the perfect ending to a family meal or showcased on a seasonal dessert menu, Lebanon Peach Cake is sure to leave a lasting impression.

As with any great recipe, preparation is the foundation of success. Begin by measuring and organizing all of your ingredients, then prepare your mixer and workstation. Sift together the dry ingredients, reserving the cinnamon-sugar topping. Cut the shortening into the flour mixture until evenly incorporated. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg and milk before adding them to the dry ingredients. Mix just until a smooth batter forms, then spread it evenly into a well-greased 9-inch baking pan.

Arrange the peach slices attractively over the batter, allowing their natural beauty to shine. Finish with a generous dusting of cinnamon and sugar before baking for approximately 35 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown and fully baked through.

The result is a dessert that celebrates the sweetness of fresh peaches without being overly rich. Its balanced flavors and rustic charm make it the perfect conclusion to a savory summer meal, proving that the finest desserts often let the season’s ingredients speak for themselves.

We hope this recipe inspires you to bring a taste of summer to your table and reminds you that exceptional hospitality begins with thoughtfully prepared food shared with others.
