Cura Hospitality is pleased to announce the promotion of Dr. Michael Williams, DBA, MBA, RD, CDN, FAND to Vice President of Operations and Food Strategy; and the appointment of Jasmin Sonnet, Safety Manager.
In this expanded leadership role, Michael will continue to support the clinical nutrition and culinary services, supporting the registered dietitians, registered technicians, and executive chefs across sites. He also supports clinical and policies, recipe systems and development, purchasing, regulatory compliance, social environmental initiatives, and regulatory complaince while playing a key role in shaping Cura’s culinary strategy.
Michael also leads the development and execution of Cura’s signature therapeutic and nutrient-rich food programs designed to support at-risk residents including Handcrafted Delights and Puree Creations– all of which are widely recognized for advancing nutrition and helping residents dine with dignity. Michael is also responsible for food service operations across the Southeast region, supporting key accounts including Baylor Health, Woman’s Hospital, Texas Health Resources and Natchitoches Medical Center.
A registered dietitian and executive chef with more than 20 years of experience in foodservice leadership, Michael has held a variety of progressive leadership positions, including executive chef, clinical nutrition supervisor, marketing associate, director of food & nutrition, regional director of operations, and vice president of nutrition and wellness. In addition to his industry experience, Dr. Williams has contributed to higher education, teaching courses such as organization management of food service systems, organizational behavior in food business systems and food systems at the university level.
Michael earned an associate’s degree in culinary arts and a bachelor’s degree in culinary nutrition from Johnson & Wales University, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, and a Doctor of Business Administration with a specialization in leadership from Walden University.
Michael resides in Horry County, South Carolina, with his wife and two children and pet cat.
Cura is also excited to welcome Jasmin Sonnet as Safety Manager for Cura operations. With more than 10 years of experience in contract food service, Jasmin will ensure full compliance with food safety standards while leading initiatives that promote workplace safety, cleanliness, and sanitation across senior living communities, care facilities, and hospitals.
Jasmin will also work to mitigate the risk of foodborne illness and food cross-contact by ensuring Cura’s allergen- and gluten-aware safe zone practices are followed. In addition, Jasmin will support programs that further strengthen food safety protocols, including Cura’s Salad Bar Standards & Keeping It Safe initiative—an established program popular with Cura-managed hospitals that enhance both salad bar safety and overall guest satisfaction.
Over the course of her career, Jasmin demonstrated expert ability to translate complex regulations into practical, everyday habits, a skill that has earned her a flawless record of zero local county audit failures.
From mentoring safety champions to teaching and proctoring ServSafe, Jasmin focuses on building deep-rooted safety cultures. Her true passion lies in building a vested culture of safety where everyone feels empowered. When she isn’t auditing or teaching, you can find Jasmin tending to her garden, crafting, or hanging out with her four beloved cats.
