Messiah Lifeways at Messiah Village in Mechanicsburg, PA, recently celebrated its $80 million “Project Envision” expansion which features 84 apartment homes, wellness and enrichment centers, a saltwater pool – and two new restaurants, Café 100 and Kathryn’s on the Square! The expan
“We are excited to have the two new dining venues on campus, because along with our current two venues, we are now able to offer four distinct dining destinations for our guests to enjoy on campus,” said Franklin Oiler, general manager of dining services.
The new Cafe 100 area offers a comfortable and vibrant setting for guests to enjoy many fresh and healthy menu options for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as grab-and-go options. The pastry chef creates an assortment of fresh made pastries and desserts for the cafe that guests enjoy with fresh brewed coffee from the Starbuck’s We Proudly Brew program.
Samples from the grand opening celebration featured:
- Poached organic egg on sourdough toast with grilled asparagus and lemon chive beurre blanc
- Spinach, tomato, egg white and feta on whole wheat flatbread
- Toasted opened face muesli round with almond butter and granny smith apple topped with crisp prosciutto (the muesli rounds are homemade by our pastry chef!)
Diners enjoy watching Cura chefs prepare seasonal salads and sandwiches beneath a canopy of angled wood beams!
Residents can also frequent Kathryn’s on the Square where all menu items are prepared fresh – even pastries are baked onsite!
When the weather gets warmer, residents will eat “al fresco” in the Carr Courtyard!
Our opening team included Chef/Manager Judy Ingram; Cura Chefs Keenan Alexander, Ramon Resto, Greg Hozel, Geoff Timothy and Mariah Anderson. Baristas and servers included Steph Huth, Laura Stanish, and Marcy Thompson.
