Recognition ignites staff! In fact, it’s one of the key drivers to attracting and retaining highly qualified and dedicated people!
In a study from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) 87% of HR managers agreed that recognition positively affects employee relationships, which are essential to retaining employees.
In another study from Globoforce, 89% of respondents said their work relationships matter to their overall quality of life.
Awards also improve relationships with their leaders!
We are proud of Cura’s people. Not only does Cura’s leadership recognize our people monthly for their hard work and dedication to their guests, our clients consistently award them through their organization’s recognition programs.
At Allegheny Health Network, it is evident that our people are proud to serve our medical staff and patients. At AHN Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights, PA, Cura team member Mary (Coward) Pierce, a dining supervisor, was honored during a Pittsburgh Pirates Baseball/AHN Employee Acknowledgement Day at PNC Park in Pittsburgh for making hundreds of masks during the pandemic!
Mary was pictured on a banner located outside of PNC Park. Mary was one of ten AHN heroes selected for this honor. Mary and her family attended the event where she received a Pirates shirt with her name and other surprises!
AHN also recognized several dining team members with the “AHN Team Member of the Year Award”. Congratulations to Stephanie Anderson, West Penn Hospital (Pittsburgh) Hostess/Team Lead for creating a wonderful patient experience! Cura proudly aligns its “Completely Satisfied Patient Experience Model” with the goals of AHN’s Operations Excellence which follows five pillars including Safety, Quality, Patient Experience, Efficiency, and Human Development. Pictured with Stephanie are Gina Schmidt, Patient Services Manager, and Jason Roeback, COO.
Congratulations to another dining team member named “Team Member of the Year” – Lori Amsden, Allegheny General Hospital (Pittsburgh) Administrative Assistant for her hard work and dedication to the department. Lori is always willing to support the team where needed and has worked at AGH for 36 years! Pictured with Lori are Mark Nussbaum, COO, Danielle Weber, Assistant Dining Director, and Jonathan Hilliard Director of Dining Services.
Congratulations to Stephanie Gray, RD CD Clinical Nutrition Manager at Marion Health in Indiana, who worked tirelessly through the pandemic and the two-year launch of Marian’s new bariatric program! Stephanie received the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention Full Plus recognition for the hospital’s Diabetes Prevention “in-person” program. Instead of receiving the standard three-year full recognition, the hospital proudly earned a FIVE-YEAR CDC recognition due to the additional data collected! Marion Health is now enrolled as a Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program Supplier!
“I am proud to recognize the Cura culinary team at Mississippi State Hospital that co-sponsored the MS State Hospital Golf Tournament held last month. Cura received so many compliments on breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A shout out to Chris Dawson, Damitra Parham, Erin Howett, Clyde Ott, Amelia, Johnny Miller, and Jeremy for their hard work. With a great attitude and always a smile on their faces, they all started their day at 4 am, rolled up their sleeves, and didn’t stop until 7 pm! We couldn’t have done it without you! It was a pleasure meeting and working with all of you to make this charitable event such a success!” says Christopher Cormier, Cura Operations Support Manager
