Cura’s Completely Satisfied is at the Heart of our Operations

Cura’s passion for food and hospitality is felt by our patients…as well as our medical staff who view the cafe as a respite where they can recharge with a meal break. They feel loved, valued and heard through fresh food and personalized service. The heartwarming dining experiences, including “The Fan Favorite” features a regular customer’s favorite dish one day a month, bringing attention both to that meal and the hospital employee who loves it!

Fan Favorite was celebrated at Allegheny Health Network’s West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA, one of the top 50 hospitals in the nation for obstetrics and gynecological care, where Dr. Miller’s favorite “nachos” were featured on the menu! It was Dr. Miller’s birthday too, so her favorite dessert – vanilla cupcakes and a birthday cake were also baked and sold in her honor.

The promotion isn’t extra work for the dining team because the meals are already part of the menu cycle and don’t require special ingredients.

Cura promotes Fan Favorites on a monthly calendar that’s displayed in the cafeteria and also announces them as “coming soon” to generate more excitement. “This gets a buzz going. The whole department comes down to support the person, and it has a nice PR benefit. It’s all about creating the heart of food service right here in the café,” says Cura Retail Manager Holly Parkinson.

“I love the cafe employees! They take pride in their work and are always kind with a smile on their face. It’s always a pleasure to see them,” Dr. Eirwen Miller, West Penn Hospital Obstetrics Physician.

Fan Favorite demonstrates our ability to create a completely satisfying experience!

Hospital staff and visitors still feel the love, even after the cafe is closed! Cura expands freshly prepared meal offerings while providing hospital staff and visitors with a convenient culinary experience throughout the day! Byte and Just Baked vending technology offer cold and hot meals prepared fresh from the cafe, on-the-go snacks and beverages. These automated dining solutions are offered to many of our hospital partners including Texas Health, Washington Hospital, TidalHealth and Fulton County Medical Center (FCMC)

According to Michael Straley, the executive director of the Foundation at FCMC. “We wanted to do something special for our employees at the ICare Lounge, especially for those who are working or visiting the hospital when the cafe is closed. This was truly a team effort with Cura Hospitality, our dining partner, who collaborated with us on identifying the best technology and cooler as an optimal and flexible 24/7 automated solution for on-the-go meals. The Lunch Box is an excellent add-on that creates more convenient food options for hospital staff and visitors alike.”
