Reprinted from The Pittsburgh Business Times – Cura Hospitality this month announced an expansion of its services in southwestern Pennsylvania to hospitality and dining services for several more behavioral health, senior housing and independent living communities.
Canonsburg-based Cura Hospitality, a division of Elior North America, announced it had struck a deal with Gateway Rehabilitation Center for Cura to manage the dining services at the Aliquippa, Erie and Braddock behavioral health facilities.
Cura also announced it has expanded its services with Presbyterian SeniorCare Network beyond the three communities it already serves: Sherwood Oaks in Cranberry Township, Longwood at Oakmont in Verona and Shenango On the Green in New Wilmington.
This month Cura began providing chef-managed meals for the residents of six independent living and assisted living communities owned by UPMC and managed by Presbyterian SeniorCare. Those are Cumberland Woods Village in Allison Park, Hampton Fields Village in Allison Park, Strabane Trails Village in Washington, Beatty Point Village in Monroeville, Cumberland Crossing in Allison Park and Strabane Woods in Washington. It will prepare 526,000 meals at the nine communities.
“The experience there has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Presbyterian SeniorCare VP of Retirement Services Bobbi Jo Haden.
Cura also provides services for Allegheny Health Network and UPMC Washington Hospital.
The company’s approach includes quality foods with fresh ingredients including vegetables and prepared by an executive chef, a dietician-focused care program that includes individual nutritional needs and personal food preferences, and other health and wellness benefits.
Gateway said in a statement that it picked Cura for its commitment to whole-person care. “Our partnership brings not only nutritious, high-quality meals, but also a compassionate approach that supports recovery and well-being,” said OrlandoPlaza, director of food and nutrition for Gateway Rehab. “Together, we’recreating an environment where individuals can heal, feel supported and focus on their journey forward.”
