Cura Culinary Team Wins LifeSpan Network Culinary Competition

  • Published March 6, 2024

As a first-time participant, Cura Hospitality’s Culinary team WINS the Taste of Senior Living sponsored by the LifeSpan Network – – the largest and most diverse senior care provider association in the Mid-Atlantic, representing more than 350 senior care providers in Maryland and the District of Columbia.

John Cramutola, National Director of Culinary, and Jason Clark, Corporate Chef, were awarded the Silver Spoon Award as the overall winners selected by a panel of judges!

The Taste of Senior Living brings together great food, great people, and serious competition. Senior living community cuisine professionals are invited to compete for honors across several categories, including taste, texture, and appearance of their menu items.  Team Cura beat out 19 competitors, including other contract service companies and self-operated communities.

The menu consisted of a land and sea combination of Chorizo Croquette and Ceviche Crisp.  The food was the talk of the show, and many attendees came back for seconds…and thirds…and fourths!

Chef Cramutola leads culinary development for Cura and provides progressive ideas to enhance guest and patient satisfaction. Chef Clark assists with the development, implementation, and training of Cura’s culinary programs.  Chef also provides support to chefs across Cura’s operating regions.

The booth was merchandised in a Peruvian theme complete with a custom branded backdrop, string lights, and tiles and tablecloths that fit the theme. The team was supported by Senior Director, of Partnership Growth and Engagement Kimmi Campagna, Director of Business Development Brandon Craig, Client Partnership Director Jon Norris, and Senior Director of Marketing Jared Levin.
