Cura Hospitality Delivers Peer-Leading Patient Satisfaction Results

  • Published April 13, 2023
  • | Health and Wellbeing

Today, hospital administrators recognize that food service is not their core competency. Delivering a high-quality food service program is increasingly becoming a core component when it comes to improving patient-experience measurement metrics.  Begin your journey with Cura Hospitality who will help you to maximize patient satisfaction scores and reimbursement achievements!

What you can expect from a partnership with Cura…

A Completely Satisfied℠ Patient Experience

Cura’s clinical team members enhance patient experiences – both in terms of nutrition and hospitable services – with its signature Completely Satisfied℠ Patient Experience guest services model, which achieves peer-leading patient satisfaction results.

Through Completely Satisfied℠, we focus on each patient’s specific health and dietary needs as well as their personal preferences. Our clinical professionals meet regularly with medical staff to identify nutritionally at-risk patients and recommend proactive plans to help keep them nourished.

Cura’s high patient experience performance scores also contribute to many of our hospital’s high-ranking scores including Press Ganey, the most recognized national patient-experience measurement metric.

Therapeutic Food

Cura puts patients first!

Through a patient-centered philosophy, our goal is to be a visible, engaged member of the patient care team.  We complement our customized nutrition plans with therapeutic “food” innovations including Handcrafted Delights℠, a nutrient-supplementing snack program that replaces traditional supplements with real food using pantry staples and fresh produce.   Puree Creations℠ is another widely used concept that preserves dignity by adequately nourishing patients with dysphagia by preparing real foods, freshly prepared and attractively structured.

Our clinicians and culinary experts speed the healing process for post-operative and post-injury patients.

Designing Healthier Food Choices

Cura’s executive chefs prepare delicious, high-quality food from scratch with fresh and nutritious ingredients.  In fact, Cura was one of the first healthcare food service providers in the U.S. to eliminate trans-fatty acids from its menus.  Cura continues to make substantial commitments to promoting healthier lifestyles with BeWell!

Through BeWell, we nurture well-being with every meal we serve! We recognize the impact food makes on health and wellness. Our BeWell wellness approach demonstrates our commitment to improving the health of all Americans, from children to seniors, by making healthy food choices, an easy choice by identifying those foods in our cafes.

Cura also promotes wellness initiatives including preventative health screenings, health education, and nutrition workshops for patients and members of the community.

Doing Good

Cura takes its responsibility seriously in making a positive impact on our communities and our environment. Our focus is “doing good” in areas of food, wellness, people, and our planet.

In fact, Cura’s Waste Nothing approach is one of our many initiatives that our team members feel good about!  We start in our kitchens where pre-consumer waste including overproduction, trim waste, expiration, and dropped items, to name a few, can be reduced.  This also applies to our dining areas, where operators can better manage waste on the salad bars, steam wells, self-serve deli stations, and misordered products.   Post-consumer food waste can also be reduced through smaller portions, going trayless, and promoting awareness programs to our residents and guests.

Waste Nothing creates awareness and overall facilitates the food waste we produce and works to help reduce, rescue, and redirect from landfills!

Restaurant-Style Dining Destinations

Cura transforms common hospital cafes into restaurant-style dining destinations where innovative spaces, exciting new concepts, and chef-inspired menus drive foot traffic from the community — outside the hospital walls.

Our culinary team’s focus is creating a dining experience, and that much-needed respite for medical staff, primary health care providers, and guests who need a ‘recharge’ meal break with healthy made-to-order breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Customers are engaged and eager to visit our rebranded cafes where food is highlighted in stylish display cases, along with digital signage that features menu variety, nutritional information, and daily specials and activities that keep staff nourished and engaged.

Micro Markets

Trending and convenient grab-and-go solutions are offered such as the Tryon Market where guests can select from basic sandwiches and salads to a Heat at Home program which provides convenience with family-size meals to take home.

Micro markets are also offered for busy customers to conveniently serve themselves and use a self-checkout kiosk with cashless payment systems as a 24/7 service option.

Partnering with Cura gives you so many options, using the latest technology to expedite enjoying your favorite meal and products.

Cura is so much more than food on a plate.  We are an essential member of your acute care team!
