The Cura team was excited to announce its partnership with SpiriTrust Lutheran, a York, PA-based social ministry organization. The agency provides an array of programs and services to more than 25,000 people in 20 Pennsylvania counties and three bordering counties in northern Maryland.
Cura officially began serving SpiriTrust Lutheran in December of 2017. The culinary team focuses on creating exceptional resident-centered dining options beyond “three great meals per day” for the more than 1,300 residents who call one of six SpiriTrust Lutheran senior living communities home.
In addition, Cura provides lunch five days a week to approximately 40 SpiriTrust Lutheran LIFE program participants. Plus, team members can also enjoy meals and snacks at the various cafés and bistros located throughout its senior living communities located in Gettysburg, York, Chambersburg, Shrewsburg and Hanover.
According to Michael Markey, Cura vice president of business development, “SpiriTrust Lutheran was impressed by the comprehensive personalized dining program we offer for all levels of care, including our signature Handcrafted Delights.”
Handcrafted Delights, an idea inspired by Cura, revolutionizes traditional nutrient-supplementing snacks with visually appealing and tasty treats that use pantry staples and produce already available in the kitchen!
“Cura’s contributions to therapeutic innovations and outstanding outcomes through Handcrafted Delights, as well as Whole Body Menus, Puree Creations, Enriched Foods and Connections Memory Care Dining, appeal to families researching optimal dining care,” said Angela Dohrman, senior vice president and chief operating officer, SpiriTrust Lutheran. “These were key factors in the selection of our new dining services partner.”
Cura was also proud to begin dining services at Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg, PA, a non-profit corporation which owns and operates a 21-bed critical access hospital and 67-bed skilled nursing care facility.
According to Kimmi Campagna, Cura director of business development, we are excited to serve their acute care center’s cafeteria, and help guide them on their culture change journey, a national movement for a conversion of the institutionalized system of care to person-directed values and practices.
“Fulton County is beginning to experience Cura’s Completely Satisfied patient-centered meal program which continues to achieve high patient satisfaction ratings through attention to the individual patient’s health, dietary and nutritional needs with healthy and fresh cooking,” said Ms. Campagna.
Cura is also honored to be a part of Fulton County’s new Center for Advance Medicine which includes a pharmacy, cardiology, respiratory, radiology and other specialty services.
A new bistro is also being constructed to appeal to staff, patients and visitors. Under the direction of Jon Norris, Cura hospital district manager, “Our goal is to create the look, menu and feel of a contemporary bistro that offers fresh, made-to-order food, while providing a quick and nutritious meal to go,” says Norris.
