The MarketPlace Grille at Presbyterian SeniorCare’s Longwood at Oakmont Community in Verona, PA, received a new look for the new year!
The updated MarketPlace Grille was a complete tear down, transitioning to a scatter-station food court like system. The Marketplace Grille now offers several food choices including pizza, grilled items, soup, deli as well as a barista.
“When we met with architects, we focused on creating a more contemporary design that would eliminate long waits in line and incoporate lots of natural light,” said Dea Tomsic, district manager.
“The new look is inviting and more spacious to accommodate more scooters and walkers. Plus, the new venue is open for all meal parts to independent, assisted and skilled residents, as well as Longwood at Oakmont staff.”
The barista features breakfast including coffee, espresso, cappuccino, chai, lattes, smoothies and milkshakes. Guests and residents can a enjoy breakfast sandwiches, bagels, English muffins, pastries, fruit, yogurt and parfaits.
For lunch, residents have their choice from three different kinds of pizzas, turkey burgers, fresh deli and made-to-order sandwiches and wraps. At dinner, you can find many fresh selections including beef medallions, grilled salmon, as well as comfort food selections such as meatloaf.
A new turbo chef, flat top and grill were added so that everything from salmon to a fresh brioche can be prepared at time of service,” said Ms. Tomsic.
Residents are also treated to a live action station where Cura Executive Chef Christian Olson cooks food prepared-to-order and in front of residents. “We want our menus to be fresh and full of variety– but more importantly, it’s about choice,” added Ms. Tomsic.
The team includes: Mary Kay Grippa, general manager; Christian Olson, executive chef; Andrea White, assistant director; Michelle Cypher, dining room manager; Greg Perkins; healthcare manager; and Robyn Dillner, dietitian.
